Kindergarten Update

It's hard to believe that the first semester is almost over! Thank you for your help and support throughout the first half of the year! I hope all of you have a safe and fun Winter Break!

Please remember our Polar Express Day is scheduled for this Wednesday, December 16. Your child may wear pajamas to school on that day. Please have your child also bring his/her decorated box (train car) to school that day. Please let me know if you don't have a box...we've collected some at school:).

Last Week's Fun...

*We introduced the sight words "play" and "with."

*The children worked on their list books.

*We practiced noting tens and ones in numbers.

*We compared and contrasted gingerbread stories.

*We began learning about winter holidays around the world.

This Week's Fun...

*The sight word "here" will be introduced.

*We'll visit our buddy class and they'll perform some reader's theater presentations for us.

*We'll continue to practice seeing tens and ones in numbers.

*We'll learn more about winter holidays around the world.

*We'll finish up our list books.

*We'll have fun reading "The Polar Express" on Wednesday!

*We'll have our Winter Party on Thursday!

Important Dates...

*Wednesday, December 16: "Polar Express Day..." children may wear their pajamas to school for this fun day. Please send in their decorated box ("train car"). We'll parade around the building beginning at 1:30!

*Thursday, December 17: Winter Party 2:30-3:30. Please refer to our "nut safer" snack list if you are assigned to bring food. We have some students in our class with severe allergies and I would hate for them to miss out on any party fun! If you have any questions, please let me know!

*Friday, December 18: No school for Kindergartners...grades 1-5 dismissed at 11:45...end of first semester.

*Monday, December 21-Monday, January 4: Winter Break

*Tuesday, December 5: School resumes
