Interdisciplinary Approach to Project Based Learning
The focus will be collaborative, inquiry based learning also known as project based learning. The projects will be completed in small groups. This makes attendance vital for on campus days. If you opt in to be an on campus learner and do not show up other students learning experience will be impacted. Please consider this before making the decision to participate in on campus days or not. AISA has partnered with iEARN organization and will facilitate your learners collaboration in projects hand in hand with students around the globe!
AISA works to create and implement Project-based learning that is interdisciplinary in nature and collaborative in design. Project-Based Learning, with the essential elements of the Gold Standard Design in place, lends itself to interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary learning. An interdisciplinary approach supports students as they use and develop an understanding of concepts and skills from other disciplines. This takes place as they seek out their solution to the driving question. A transdisciplinary approach goes beyond learning in school, with a deliberate focus on learning outside of the classroom that can support flexible pathways (e.g., work-based learning, authentic inquiry, service learning, etc.). A real-world context, transferable skills, and a personalized inquiry path are incorporated in transdisciplinary content. Scholars that opt in to on campus days will be writing, reflecting, analyzing, and communicating with the support of their advisors. The math, english, science and history subjects increase highly in their engagement as they are Integrated in these projects for the scholars. Dynamic advisors will guide scholars through rigorous cross-curricular learning experiences.
We are excited to see this become a reality in our program in our optional on campus days for all learners!

Intake Meetings
Mark Your Calendar
AISA first day of school will be August 16 but on campus days will not begin until the week of August 21 the following week. Sign up slots via Parentsquare will be sent out from your learners advisor for initial intake meetings. These must be completed the first week of school. Please sign up as soon as you can once you receive your advisors email with the details.
Master agreements will be sent via email and must be signed before the first day of school which is 8/16. It is important that AISA receives your completed master agreement before then. We are waiting for our new School Pathways Aveson data system to complete its update so that AISA may gain proper rosters and contact information for all who are enrolled.
Parent Volunteers
We have fantastic fun filled events planned for this school year. We are looking for Parents Liaisons (1-2 per classroom), and a list of parent volunteers that we know we can count on throughout the year as needed. The role of a parent liaison is to support AISA in setting up and running the events we host such as Business Fair, Day of the Dead and holiday potlucks etc. If you are interested or would like to take part in any other aspect that is AISA please click on the button below and let us know.
Thank you.
Relax, breathe, and enjoy!
We feel so much pride in being chosen to help guide you and your learner on your journey. We know that you have choices and you chose us. Thank you.
The school year is around the corner, but it is not here quite yet! Take in this information and let it simmer like the summer sun!
