Back to School (almost)

A Message from Mrs. Gregory

We are getting so excited about school opening. Last week many of our teachers started pilling back into the building and getting their classrooms readied for the start of the school year. The excitement in the building is just tangible. This newsletter is mostly a repeat of the information from the last call---- and a reminder to click those links before open house. I've added some *** with new information.

We are aware that there were some issues with the meal application link. We have updated the meal link. We will be sure to have paper copies at open house if the quirks were not ironed out before.

Last but not least--- we are still building student schedules. Full disclaimer--- we have 1 data manager who manages 4 schools. We are so thankful for the work that Mrs. Rabil has done to get our student schedules complete. We know that there may be some tweaks that need to be made. We will have a process to do that as school starts. Schedules are fluid and will be for the first 10 days of school--- but they in their draft view are available for view in Powerschool now.

*Join the PTA!

Have you joined the PTA? Now is a GREAT time to do so! You can click the link here to join! This will give you access to all the great things that the PTA does for our school. Once you join, be sure to also join the PTA Facebook group. It is our goal to have 100% of Teachers and Parents as members of our PTA.

Open House

Open House will be August 25th from 5-7 PM. A parent meeting will be held at 6:00 pm. When you arrive to the school for open house, please enter through the Wall-Ennis Gym doors. Inside the gym, you will be able to grab your schedule, talk with transportation, pick up carpool tags, and sign up for PTA (among other things)! Feel free to visit your classroom teachers either prior to or after the parent meeting that will be held in the gym at 6pm.
Please click the Student Information form above. Please complete the student information form ONCE for EVERY student. It is a must that we have this information on file for every IA student.
Families who plan to use carpool daily will be issued two (2) carpool tags this year. If you loose your tags, a replacement tag and new carpool number will be $2.00. Please click the above button to sign up for your tags if you plan to use carpool daily. You can also find the form here: Each family only needs to sign up once for a tag. If you sign up prior to open house, you can pick up your tags then. Once school starts, if you are in the carpool lane without a numbered tag, you will be asked to park and enter the building to sign out your student as a safety precaution.

School Bus Transportation

All students who attend Innovation Academy are eligible for bus transportation. If you have any questions concerning bus transportation, please email Assistant Principal Mr. Barnett ( ).

******Bus drivers will NOT be calling families about routes as they have done in past years. You will recieve bus passes at open house. Information can also be accessed in the Powerschool Parent Portal and via the Here Comes the Bus App. More information forthcoming. Representatives from transportation will be at open house.

Student Schedules

Student schedules are able to be viewed in the Powerschool student and parent portal. Students will be able to pick up paper copies their class schedules at open house in the gym from 5-7pm on August 25th.
Click the "School Supplies" button above to get a list of the requested supplies for each grade level. If your family is in need of help purchasing school supplies, please send an email directly to Mrs. Gregory (

School Lunch

If you have not submitted a school meals application, please do so TODAY. Please complete the application even if your student will not qualify for free or reduced lunch. The student’s 21-22 meal benefit status will carry over for the first 30 days of the 22-23 SY. However, many families did not submit an application while meals were offered at no cost. Even if you think that your family may not qualify, please go ahead and apply for meal benefits so that students are able to roll that benefit for the first 30 days of the 22-23 School Year.

NEW TITAN FAMILY PORTAL (Secure, Online System)

All households should submit an application and sign up for the Family Portal which allows families to make online payments to their children’s meal accounts, remotely monitor their children’s accounts, set up automatic recurring payments, set up low balance email message alerts, and submit an online application for free and/or reduced meals: Titan Family Portal Link

School Sports

This summer, I have answered lots of questions about sports. While Innovation does not currently have our own sports teams, students are able to attend Innovation and play sports at their base schools. So- as we approach try-out season for fall sports, please reach out to your base schools to find out when tryouts are happening. Let us know if you make the team!
