Copyright Reminder
A message from the Technology Department: As new panels are being rolled out, we have received a number of questions regarding distribution of movies across multiple classrooms. In order to clarify what is possible at this time, what the plans are for the future, copyright issues and best practice, we have created a Cleartouch Panels and Video Distribution document. . Cleartouch Panels and Video Distribution document
DVD Players:
Each school has been given several portable DVD players that will plug into panel to show a movie. Students could gather together in larger rooms to watch the movie together.
A solution for showing the same video in multiple classrooms at the same time is in the works for next year.
Copyright Issues:
Streaming videos from sites like Amazon Prime or Netflix is not allowed in FCS. These are for home use only.
You may stream videos from Safari Montage and Discovery Ed.
Best Practice:
Showing a full length movie of any kind is not considered best practice.
Movies or movie snippets shown in the classroom should be used to support the curriculum.

Heart of Forsyth Festival- Thank You!
Thank you so much for making the 2nd annual Heart of Forsyth Winter Festival a huge success! The hard work and effort of the Special Events Cluster Team truly made the night magical for our entire community. The trees looked amazing and the choruses & drama students sounded great. The face painting booth was awesome, the kid’s (and some adults) faces looked outstanding! The hot chocolate (even though it ran out) and coffee were delicious. And our very own Corporal Weinmann Claus was the hit of the evening! I could go on and on. Just a special night all around.
I am thrilled to share that we collected 121 toy donations and 2 bikes (up from 92 last year) that will be donated to The Place of Forsyth’s Holiday House! That’s awesome!!!
Thanks again, the Central Cluster truly is the Heart of Forsyth!
Thank you,
TJ Miniscalco

- You must turn on the collaboration feature in Student Paced Mode, for many of the activities in Nearpod to work. Turning on Collaboration Feature in Nearpod
- I also included directions on how to Add an Assignment in Itslearning and changing the permissions so students can view the assignment. Please pay close attention to the “changing permissions” section since this step is often overlooked.
- You may want to log in as one of your students and check the student view to make sure they have access to your resources. Remember, all student logins are saved in our #Mashburn Team Drive—Student Accounts

Flu Season is Here!
You have been doing a great job of letting me know when you have a confirmed (diagnosed by a doctor- does not have to be tested/a or b determined) case of the flu. So far we have not had more than one case in any given classroom. This is just a reminder to continue letting me know because these cases get reported by me to the county- sometimes parents tell their child's teacher, but don't remember to tell me or Mrs. Kieffer. Remember to keep using your sani spray on surfaces, encourage handwashing and hand sanitizer, and keep yourselves healthy!!! Thanks guys!
