Staff Bingo!
Perhaps, my love for Bingo could make a great "little known fact" for an ice-breaker sometime. Complete with my own Bingo dauber collection, this girl LOVES it! Oh, the exciting activities we did pre-children!
Anyhow, this staff Bingo game is a fun way to focus on some of the "little things" that matter the most on our campus! With a focus on strengthening relationships, encouraging one another, and have a servant's heart, I hope this game is a fun way to bring us even closer together during the holiday season.
Here are some things you need to know about our staff bingo game:
- The main Bingo board, where all participation must be tracked, has been posted in the hallway near the office copier! When you complete a task, record your name on that sheet of paper. Just like good documentation, if you don't track it, it didn't happen!
- Each employee should have received a card in your mailbox today! If you need another copy, extras will be available beside the staff board. These boards will help you keep track of all the tasks and which ones you can still complete. Additionally, this will help you track your progress toward PRIZES!
- PRIZES! Did you know that there is more than one way to Bingo?!? I'm telling ya - I am quite the Bingo connoisseur. Of course, it is more difficult to get a Bingo with some different arrangements on the board! For this round of staff Bingo, there will be 5 different ways to earn a prize, as outlined below! Of course, visuals are provided, because that is what good educators do, right?!?
* Five-in-a-Row - Candy Bar of Choice
* Two Postage Stamps (In Any Two Corners) - Jeans Day Pass
* Fly A Kite (In Any Corner) - Sonic Drink of Choice
* Missing Link - Cute Office Supply Bundle
* Blackout (ONLY ONE AWARD GIVEN!) - FREE Half-Day of Leave
Prize - Jeans Pass
Prize - Sonic Drink
Prize - Office Supply Pack
East Elementary Parent Remind Account
As I created the account on Tuesday, I added many of you from my phone contacts. I apologize for those of you who were not added. First of all, I can't BELIEVE we aren't phone friends yet!!! Second of all, I really would like to make sure you are getting the Remind notifications for staff members *AND* for families so that everyone is in the loop at all times!
If you have not been added to the FAMILY Remind account, you can do so by following the directions below!
Family Game Night
Thank you for participating in our first Family Game Night! Tuesday night was a wonderful evening of fun as families and educators simply came together to enjoy the company of one another.
We provided just over 75 games for families to play! It was exciting to see kids and their parents have so much fun without a single electronic device, too! I also heard from many families that they added a few items to Christmas lists. Pirates of all ages really enjoyed the evening.
This event simply served as an opportunity for our families to connect and spend time enjoying their children in a relaxed atmosphere. As many of you know from our time at Central, relationships are my number one priority. Those of you who are coming from other campuses most likely know that, as well. Sitting around a table playing a heated game of Chutes and Ladders is just one way we can foster strong relationships with our students, their parents, and other members of our East community. The evening was a wonderful time to play, laugh, and love one another!
On a related note, I'd like to thank the employees, families, and friends who stayed to put away the games, tables, and chairs! It was such an unexpected blessing to have a clean "house" in a matter of minutes! I sure appreciate everyone jumping in to get cleaned up!
We'll host another Family Game Night in the spring! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 2nd, and bring your family along for another wonderful evening at East Elementary!
PTO Shopping Event - December 4th
A list of shops, as well as a few additional details, are provided in the invitation above. The shops will be set up in the 4th grade neighborhood upstairs, across from the 5th grade neighborhood. Just look for the giant longhorn!

The Heart of the Holidays
As such, I adjusted the calendar I found and made it applicable to our East Elementary family. As you have seen in this newsletter, our focus as a campus is on giving and doing for others. This season of joy brings boundless opportunities to bless the lives of others, especially those in our own community. As part of our giving initiatives on campus, I'd like to introduce our very own "12 Days of Giving" to benefit our Pirate Pantry.
Of course, participation in this initiative is not required. Again, this idea comes from my own desire as a mother of three East Elementary Pirates. I would like for my children to hold onto the focus of this holiday season, which is not the receiving of toys, but the blessings we can bestow on others. I'd like for my own children to shift their focus from "getting" to "giving."
I invite you to join my family as we focus on meeting the needs of students who attend East Elementary. Your support is always more greatly appreciated than words can adequately express.
