Othello
Dan Cleary & Liam McMahon
The marriage of Desdemona and Othello is depicted in the photo above. This marriage is an example of the current love triangle displayed throughout the numerous characters in the play. The marriage of these two stirs up a lot of violence and jealousy between the characters.
The strawberry above represents the handkerchief given between marriage. It initially shows love between two individuals. Othello is given this handkerchief by Desdemona, and it is stolen by Iago to be placed in Cassio. The symbol later becomes that of deceit as a result.
Above is Cassio and Desdemona holding hands while being looked upon by Iago. The relationship between Cassio and Desdemona is only friendship, but Iago is able to manipulate Othello into believing that it is more. This creates tension between Othello and Cassio who were in the past very close to one another.
Above is Roderigo, one of the numerous victims throughout the play. In the play, numerous victims fall to Iago's deceit and lies. Manipulation is very prevalent, and there are many victims aside from Roderigo whose lives are destroyed as a result.
Iago is shown above, and is known as the antagonist of the play. Iago pulls all the strings and is able to receive whatever he desires due to his high intelligence and remorseless attitude. He turns friends against one another as his plan comes closer and closer to the end where he will find his revenge on Othello for the belief of having an affair with his wife.
