We Are Together Tamanend!

L2U
On Saturday morning, thirty Tamanend 8th graders gathered at Tamanend to experience Link to Unity. Led by twenty CB South Link Leaders and seven Tamanend Junior Leaders, our 8th graders played interactive small group games and took on challenges. The purpose?... to build advocacy, compassion and leadership in our students.
We will have two more L2U opportunities this school year. Any interested 7th and 8th graders should click here to complete a nomination form so that they are invited to the January 14th L2U. All 9th graders, whether they have done L2U before at Tamanend or not, are eligible to participate in the March L2U which will be held at CB South along with students from Unami. If interested, 9th graders should click here to receive an invitation.
Random Acts of Kindness Day
What do creativity, innovation, and our school's podium have in common?
Last year, Mrs. Brumbaugh’s Technology and Engineering class received a vinyl cutter to enhance learning opportunities and expose students to different technologies. Since then, students in various 9th grade Engineering classes learned how to design and create their own graphics in Inkscape, a high quality open-source vector graphics program. Students then use the vinyl cutter to create their own hidden logos, decals for co2 cars, and t-shirts. Recently, Mrs. Brumbaugh showed students how Inkscape and the vinyl cutter could be used in the real world. After sanding and finishing our school seal on a beautiful wooden base, Tamanend’s auditorium podium is now complete with a professionally created school seal. Thank you, Mrs. Brumbaugh!

Giving for Thanksgiving!
The eighth grade class collected food items for 12 Thanksgiving dinners complete with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, pie and other fixings. These dinners will go to Tamanend families. Special thanks to Mrs. Myrtetus, to all the 8th grade students and homeroom teachers, to Mrs. Villa for purchasing and transporting the turkeys, and to the 9th grade National Junior Honor Society members who helped organize this important service project for the Tamanend community.

Rainy Day Traffic
On rainy days, we create our own traffic with an increase of students who become carriders. Please allow your student to ride the bus if they are a regular bus rider. A good compromise that won't cause school traffic and lateness to work and school is to drive your student to the bus stop.
Thank you for your cooperation.
