January Online Learning Edition
Please review the SCSD Family Message from December 10, 2020 regarding online learning in January.
Online Learning in January
The district has decided to take a two-week "exposure pause" after winter break. This means all of the district students (K-3 hybrid, small groups, special education programs) will engage in distance learning from January 4-15 and will not be allowed on school premises.
There is no school on Monday, January 18 for Martin Luther King Jr. holiday so there will be no Google Meets that day.
AA hybrid students will attend again in-person on Tuesday, January 19 and BB hybrid students will begin again on Thursday, January 21.
Our Resource students will being in-person again on Wednesday, January 20 from 9:00-12:45.
Student who are attending in the afternoon for extra support or connectivity will begin again on Tuesday, January 19 from 1:00-3:30. These groups will continue to meet on Mondays and Tuesdays for the remainder of time that grades 4/5 are learning remotely.
On January 15, 2021 we will look at the timeline for expanding in-person instruction to students in grades 4/5. We will communicate these plans as soon as they are solidified.
Office Hours
The best way to contact a staff member with questions is through email. Please use tceinfo@stanwood.wednet.edu for office related inquiries.
If you call the school at 360-629-1270 and leave a message, someone will return your call as soon as possible. The returned call may come from an out of state number as we are using Google Phone to call you back.
Online Learning Expectations
All students in grades K-5 will participate in Google Meets on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Their classroom teacher will have two 30-minute Google Meets for English/Language Arts and Math. The specialist will provide a 20-minute Google Meet for P.E. or Library.
On Wednesdays, all teachers are available to answer questions or provide support during their Google Meet Office Hour. Please join using the teacher's Google Meet Code.
The remainder of the day should be spent working on the assignments and materials provided. Students in grades K-2 will access assignments through Seesaw or iXL. Grades 3-5 will use Google Classroom, iXL, and Reflex. Teacher may also provide paper materials for students. If you receive these from your child this week or by mail, please set aside until after winter break to use in January.
