A Messy Situation!
Students are missing out on class time and academics and parents are being inconvenienced for owners who are not being responsible and cleaning up after their pets.
Please help us by sharing this information with the community. If you see someone coming on campus with any animal, refer them to the signs that indicate animals should not be on campus even after school hours.
Service animals are welcome.
Some Unsafe Actions This Past Week - Drop off and Pick up Safety Reminders!
For the safety of all of our students, families, and staff:
Parking lots are CLOSED during drop off and pick up, so we can allow the busses to get in and out. If you wish to walk your student to their classroom or blacktop, please park on the opposite side of the street or in the church parking lot. The side of the street with the white curb is for pick-up and drop off only; you may NOT park on this side of Topaz. You must remain in the driver's seat of your vehicle and move forward to allow for others to pull in behind you.
Please forward this information to any friends or family members who may pick up your student. Thank you for your cooperation.
When to keep your student home from school due to illness:
It is a good idea to keep your child home from school if they have any of the following symptoms:
- FEVER – temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. A child should be fever-free (without fever reducing medicine) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- GREENISH NOSE DISCHARGE, AND/OR CHRONIC COUGH – should be seen by a health care provider. These conditions may be contagious and require treatment.
- SORE THROAT – especially with fever or swollen glands in the neck.
- DIARRHEA – 3 or more watery stools in a 24 hours period especially if the child acts or looks ill.
- VOMITING – vomiting 2 or more times within the past 24 hours.
- EAR INFECTIONS WITHOUT FEVER – do not need to be excluded, but the child needs to get medical treatment and follow-up. Untreated ear infections can cause permanent hearing loss.
Bringing a child to school with any of the above symptoms puts other children and staff at risk of getting sick. If all parents keep their sick children at home, we will have stronger, healthier and happier children.
Cover all coughs and sneezes – wash hands frequently! Get yearly flu shots for everyone in the family. Prevention is the best defense we have against illness.
Yearbooks are on Sale!
If you don't have a computer at home, we would be happy to help you order in the office.
