The Mata Memo
September 12, 2023
Principal's Message
Dear Mata family,
We hope this message finds you well and excited for what's ahead in our school community. We want to remind you of our upcoming PTA Meeting scheduled for today, September 12th at 6:00 PM. Your presence and input are invaluable in shaping the future of our school, so please mark your calendars. We'll be discussing important school updates, school clubs and activities, fundraising efforts, and ways we can collaborate to make our children's education even more enriching.
In addition to the PTA Meeting, we're thrilled to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month this Friday. This month-long celebration provides a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about and appreciate the diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community. We will have opportunities and activities throughout the month to recognize and celebrate the positive impact that the Hispanic culture has on our communities and around the world. Please celebrate this rich heritage with us. Together, we can create a vibrant and inclusive school environment for all our children.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Tomeka Middleton-Williams
Principal

Middle School SBDM Subcommittee Meeting
We are seeking new members to our community to support the Middle School SBDM Sub-Committee. The Site Based Decision Making Committee (SBDM) is an advisory committee made up of faculty, staff, parents and community members. SBDM advises the principal on decisions about many things happening at Mata, including academic, social and community issues. If you’re a parent, friend and relative of a Mata student, please join us in supporting our middle school and students. Your child does not have to currently be in middle school to join.
