Fulton High School
"Preparing and Educating for Success"
WEEKLY UPDATE 9/7/18
STUDENTS FIRST
It seems that these short weeks are busier than regular 5 day weeks, but we made it. Thank you to everyone that rearranged their schedules and covered classes and duties this week. Some of you may have heard Susan Gaylor's husband had an accident Wednesday and fell 40 feet while trimming trees. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
-The state passed a mandate requiring all teachers to engage in 2 hours of dyslexia training this year. We are in the process of trying to figure out how to do that as a staff, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up. Dese has several videos on their website and once I look through those I will have a better idea of what you all need to do.
-If a student leaves your room they need a pass. ONE pass per student. There have been a lot of students in the hallway without passes or going with 2 to a pass.
-I know it's early, but we are looking for our graduation speaker from the class of 1999. If you know of someone please send me their name so I can make contact.
-ICU is up and running. We are slowly working out the kinks. If you enter an assignment you also need to go in and enter complete once they turn it into you. When you mark it complete DO NOT use the drop-down that says resend email. It will resend the original missing work email. The system will automatically email the complete notification once you update the assignment. We also have worked out the text situation so they will receive a text once marked complete now.
-Remember: If you are going to be out of your room for any reason (meetings, sponsor duties, sick, etc) and someone will be paid to cover you will need to put it in Aesop. If it is not in Aesop and doesn't match what Mrs. Painter sends to CO to process pay then your coverage will not be paid.
-Sarah will need an email with the name of the person covering, date, reason, and length of time to send over each month to CO for pay. It needs to be sent when you leave or they will not be compensated and probably come looking for you.
-Sept 10th is our Active Shooter PD day. It will be from 8-11:30. Lunch will include food trucks in the parking lot or the opportunity to go out on your own. You must be back in the Commons by 12:30 for a speaker that will begin presenting at that time.
-With our new email blasts, you MUST keep gradebooks up to date.
-We need to remember that Seminar time is for academic assistance and students are receiving .25 credits a semester. It is not a time to hold club meetings and such. This also hinders students from attending classes they need to go to for help. I understand the busy schedules and if an intro meeting is a must I get it, but do not hold regular meetings during Seminar.
