New Mark News
October 18th
Schedule Change Reminder
There is no school on October 23rd. As a result, there will be school on Oct. 21st. The regular Thursday/Friday students (L-Z) will attend Wednesday/Thursday (Oct. 21 and 22) this week.
Student Progress
We recognize that both the 100% virtual and hybrid learning present challenges for everyone. In recognition of this, we will take time this week to provide all students opportunities to complete and/or receive clarification and feedback on previous assignments. If your child is far behind on assignments, we recommend working on the last two weeks of assignments.
Moving forward, we will be asking teachers to adjust pacing and provide more feedback on fewer grades in PowerSchool. As always, please reach out with any concerns.
NEW MARK SPIRIT WEAR IS IN!!
PTSA Corner
Sweet Treat
- PTSA is so proud of our New Mark Students and Staff, that is why we will be hosting an ice cream truck this week so they can get a free treat. In-person learners will have a specific time (determined by administration) to go outside and pick a treat on whatever day they attend. Virtual only students with A-K last names are welcome to come on Tuesday, Oct 20 between 12-2pm to get a treat and students with the last name L-Z are welcome on Thursday, Oct 22 between 12-2pm. Virtual only students who can't make their assigned day, may come on the other day, just note this is ONE treat only per student, please do not come both days.
Donations for Conference Dinners
- In past years, PTSA has asked for food and drink donations for the New Mark teachers while they are at the school doing conferences. This year, PTSA will be ordering individual wrapped desserts and drinks for teachers to try and keep our staff healthier. We have updated our PTSA Square store to include donation options for families that would like to help cover these costs. Thank you for any support you can give.
Friday Fun Day
- On Friday, October 30, PTSA would like to invite your family to the Liberty Yogurtini. Perhaps you will not be trick or treating this year or perhaps you just love frozen yogurt, either way we'd love for your family to have some fun together. Anytime during the day, you can go get your dessert and all you have to do is mention New Mark PTSA when you checkout. Then we will get a percentage back of your purchase, this money will go right back to the students and staff of New Mark. Spread the word, this is not just for New Mark families. Everyone who mentions New Mark PTSA when they checkout can be a part of the event.
Thank You
- Thank you to all the New Mark families who participated in our first restaurant fundraiser with Papa John's a couple of weeks ago. We will be partnering with Northern Lights Pizza next month on Wednesday, November 4.
Sports Physicals

We will close the sign up on Monday, October 19th at end of day.
We look forward to connecting with you.

Please note that in order to use the app students create their own username and password. This is not something that can be done for them.
Below are the directions students need to follow to set up their account in order to use the app.
· In safari go to https://www.mymcpl.org/search?search-term=Homework+help.
· Click /tap the box that has “Live Homework Help and Tutor.com”
· Student logs in with NKCstudentID# then click/tap submit
· Look at the tiny words in the upper right corner and click/tap “Create an Account”.
· After students create an account on the Tutor.com website, they can use this account to log in to the Tutor.com app. Logging in to the app with the Tutor.com account information associates the student with MCPL.
