PK 4.3 - Weekly Newsletter
Our classes are full of trees discussions and observations as our students are investigating how trees are around us every day. The focus of this week has been investigating and creating a list of familiar food that come from trees. We did our own, checking our lunchboxes!
Our discussions have centered around how trees are important sources of food and about the transition from seed to tree to fruit or in some cases, flowers. They have also noticed how certain things that might not look like they come from trees, like cashews, vanilla and peanuts actually do.
We enjoyed learning the "Apples and Bananas" song and loved using vowels sounds to create funky versions of our names; acknowledging how important letter sounds are to be able to spell or speak properly.
When we come back from the break, we will continue to explore and investigate about the importance of taking care of trees!
