A Note from PA
I am so thankful spring has arrived, despite the pollen and allergies it is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year in DC. The cherry blossoms make everything all better!
A special thank you to our PTSO for serving our CHML families and staff members with hot coco, coffee, and special treats every Monday morning. A great big thank you also goes to our Garden Health and Wellness Committee for their ongoing mission to green and beautify our school! We are truly grateful and appreciative for your generosity of time and your ongoing commitment to our school community.
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
The re-enrollment platform has changed! This year all of our families who will be re-enrolling will be using Aspen. Please see the attachment and link below to ensure you have access prior to the re-enrollment process beginning in April. DCPS will be sending out additional information, we just wanted to provide a heads up in advance.
ACTION ITEM:
Prior to March 29th, please check https://aspen.dcps.dc.gov/ to make sure you have a login and can see YOUR students under your login. If you do not, please email (kristina.childs@k12.dc.gov) and include your name and what students you should be seeing.
ONGOING REMINDERS:
- The Children's House entrance will be open at 8:15am and closed at 9:00am. Primary and lower elementary students enter through this entrance.
- The main entrance on G Street are for upper elementary and middle school students beginning at 8:15am.
- After 9:00am all students enter through the main entrance on G Street and report to the main office for a late pass to class.
- As we approach the last three months of school it is very important that your child attend school every day and arrive on time.
- Early pick-up ends at 2:45pm. Please refrain from picking up your child after 2:45pm, the teacher is closing out the afternoon and organizing for a safe and orderly dismissal at 3:15pm.
- Please send an update to your child's teacher if any changes have been made regarding the dismissal or adult's picking up of your child at 3:15pm.
- Please send an e-mail kristina.childs@k12.dc.gov to gov notifying of your intent to pick up early so that we can have your child ready by the time you arrive.
- Please adhere to the parking signs during drop off and pick up. Refrain from parking in the 2nd Street side alley. The neighbors are reporting their driveways and garages being blocked. While I do not have direct evidence those cars in the alley are CHML parents, please be mindful.
- Kids Ride Free Cards are available upon request, please e-mail Ms. Childs and allow for 24-hour processing. Ms. Childs will ensure the KRF card is in the main office or brought over to the classroom.
With love and appreciation,
PA
