Laps for Learning and Believe Kids Fundraiser Kickoff
Laps for Learning is our annual fun run. All students will get a Skyview T-shirt and get to participate in a run around our school! This is a great opportunity for our students to collect donations of cash or checks that will go directly to our school!
Believe Kids is our fundraiser where the students have a variety of items available for purchase, like magazine subscriptions, wrapping paper, home goods and delicious food items. Our school will get a percentage of the sales from these items. Those families who would like to purchase items from Believe Kids are supporting our school and are getting great products.
Please check your kids Friday folders for more information about both of these great fundraisers! Remember to keep your donations for each fundraiser separate, All Laps for Learning donations should go inside the Laps for Learning envelope and all money collected for the Believe Kids fundraiser should go inside the Believe Kids envelope. Thank you for your support!
The funds collected will be used to fund field trips, updating technology, and hands on learning experiences!

Walk Smart
Top Tips to stay safe while walking.
Crossing the Street
When crossing the street it is best to use a crosswalk and/or corner and make eye contact. Crossing between parked cars is not safe.
Sidewalks
If there is a sidewalk be safe and use it. If there is no sidewalk walk facing traffic so you can see what is coming.
Driveways
People backing out of or entering a driveway do not always have a clear view of the sidewalk. Always stop and check for oncoming traffic before entering a driveway.
Dress to Be Seen
Wear light and bright colors they are easier to see and make you more visible to other people using the road.
Practice Safe Behavior
Don’t play around with friends or push. Don’t let toys, iPods, or cell phones distract you.
Signals and Crosswalks Help
These tools do not tell you when it is safe to cross. You still have to stop and check for traffic every time you cross the street.
Stop Look and Listen
Look left, right, left and all around, and then listens for traffic before crossing the street.
Yield to Oncoming Traffic
Cars are bigger than you. Make eye contact with drivers before stepping out into a crosswalk or intersection.
Parking Lot Safety
Parking lots have a lot of traffic coming from multiple directions. Walk, don’t run. Stay close to an adult or older child. Be on the lookout for tail lights. If you see a car backing up FREEZE and make eye contact before passing behind it.
We hope to see you all walking or biking to school on Wednesday, October 10th 2018!
