Important Updates for Families

Dear Families,

With the support of the A+ Arts Academy Board of Directors, in an overabundance of caution, A+ Arts Academy will continue with 100% virtual learning as we continue to monitor the Ohio Public Health Advisory Alert System. A+ Arts Academy wants to assure you that in our planning to bring our staff and scholars back to school campuses, our laser focus has always been putting people first. Your health and safety are of paramount importance to us as we plan to reopen our school buildings. A+AA guiding principles include the following:

  1. Keep our communities safe;

  2. Continue to serve our scholars with the highest standards and expectations; and

  3. Do our part to slow the community spread of COVID-19.

Families may be receiving new bus routes from the Transportation Department that better align with school schedules. Be sure to save this information. When the hybrid schedule begins, communication will be shared to confirm whether scholars will keep those same routes.

Please know we have been focused on reopening our schools for several months by engaging with families, staff, the community, and guidance from the Ohio Department of Education, the CDC, and the Franklin County Health Department to provide feedback on options for reopening.

We are committed to maintaining clear lines of communication with families. Vision and hearing screenings as well as 3rd grade testing are still required by the State. Therefore, information on scheduling these with families will be sent next week.

It is CRITICAL that the school has your updated phone number, address, and email address. Weekly electronic communications are provided by building leaders. Additionally, families are encouraged to download the PLA app and follow “A+ Arts Academies”. Kickboard will be replacing Class Dojo this year and will also serve as a way for teachers to communicate with families. Specific information will be shared by each building leader.

Please contact your scholar’s school directly if you have any further questions. Our staff are doing everything possible to prioritize your scholar’s safety.

Respectfully Submitted,

CaLeathiea Cornelius
