October 31, 2023
Dear Cirby Families,
As the crisp autumn leaves fall and the smell of pumpkin spice fills the air, we are excited to share some spooktacular updates with you in our newsletter. I hope everyone has a fun and memorable night tonight while trick or treating. This is an exciting night for our students so please take a moment to remind your children about safety. Use reflective tape, carry a flashlight, and please check their candy before indulging on all of the goodness!
Don't forget to mark your calendars for our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for the week of November 13- November 17. We are having minimum days that week so please be sure to pick your children up on time to allow our office staff to continue with their responsibilities in the office as well as helping parents find their way to their conferences.
Please review our school calendar for important dates and upcoming events. We encourage you to stay engaged with school activities and be a part of your child's educational journey.
We hope this Halloween night bring joy, excitement and lots of treats to you and your family. Remember to stay safe and enjoy the festivities together. Should you have any questions with anything, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Below is the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) testing information for those families interested in having their student, grades 3-5 take this test in January.
Warmly,
Farah Friend | Principal

Staff Spotlight π¦
This is my 5th year at Cirby. My 2nd year working as a TK Instructional Aide. I am originally from Southern California, and in 2014 the Air Force relocated my husband and our family to Northern California where we have called home ever since. In 2016, we briefly relocated to Germany where we had the opportunity to live & travel. I have 3 boys. One of them is also a Cirby eagle. Things that fill my soul are my plants, reading, paddle boarding, hiking, camping, going to concerts, and traveling. I also love trying new restaurants that allow me a little taste of other cultures. It has been my absolute pleasure to serve the community here at Cirby Elementary.

Our Fall Harvest was such a great success!! Thank you to all staff and families who helped with the set up, those who donated candy, those who set up a Trunk or Treat, and for the take down afterwards. It was truly a special night for our Eagles. It is #OneTeamOneDream with our families as well!!
PTC would like to host our Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 9th so we are looking for a chairperson who can organize this event. It truly is a great time to get our Cirby families together to connect, laugh, eat pancakes and maybe even take a picture with Santa! PTC is here to help and guide if you are interested.
5th Grade Fundraiser
5th grade is selling cookie dough and other items to raise money for their 5th grade field trip to San Francisco. Any family that does not have a 5th grade connection can order online using the student name George Cirby. We highly encourage seeking out any 5th grader before ordering through George Cirby. You must be able to pick up your order after school on Wednesday, December 6th.
