What Is NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT)?

Our bodies contain literally hundreds of joints and muscles, all of which are controlled and coordinated by our brain and nervous system. Over time, poor postural habits, injuries and physical and emotional traumas can affect our brain’s ‘software’, leading to dysfunctions in how our brain and bodies communicate.

When your brain and body are communicating and working well together, the right muscles and joints are recruited at the right time during your movements.

However, when things aren’t working so well, your brain and body struggle to coordinate and work effectively together as a team, and you can end up with the wrong information being used during your daily movements.

This can lead to the use of the wrong muscles and joints at the wrong time…leading to aches, pains and movement problems!

NeuroKinetic Therapy® aims to help your brain & body figure out what’s working well, what’s not working so well…and what you can do about it to get things back in balance so your clients or patients can feel & move well again.

Many therapy and medical approaches put their focus on chasing the pain and merely treating the symptoms; NeuroKinetic Therapy® focuses on the WHY and finding out what’s causing the underlying problems…and more importantly, how to resolve them for good!

The NeuroKinetic Therapy® corrective movement system addresses the cause - dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain. Discover why the NKT® system is the missing link in your treatment protocol!

What Will I Gain And Benefit From Investing In The NKT Seminar?

You will learn the basics of ‘Motor Control Theory’ and the concepts and protocols of NeuroKinetic Therapy®. Manual muscle testing will be demonstrated for each segment of the body over the two days of the seminar. You'll learn how to identify, assess and correct dysfunctional movement patterns during the Level 1 seminar.

Throughout the weekend, there will be practice time for you to implement what you learn and you'll be guided in how to apply NeuroKinetic Therapy® with your own clients and patients.

Simon Jones (the NKT Instructor for the seminar) aims to make learning and practising the NKT Level 1 seminar material a fun and informal experience for all the attendees!

Helping Your Clients And Patients Gain Improvement Through Movement...

NeuroKinetic Therapy® is a powerful addition to your practice as both an assessment and treatment technique.

If you are a manual therapist (e.g. Massage Therapist, Chiropractor, Physiotherapist) NKT can be used as a manual therapy technique employing soft tissue mobilisation. If you are a Personal Trainer, Pilates or Yoga practitioner, NKT can be used as an assessment technique to then help you assign effective corrective exercises for your clients to perform.

Understanding the causes of dysfunctional movement allows you to help your clients use the equipment in a more effective way.

To see an example of some of the great material that we'll be covering at the Barcelona Level 1 seminar, here's a here's a 3-minute video by the founder of NKT, David Weinstock, demonstrating the NKT approach to treating and resolving dysfunctional movement problems from an Ankle Sprain Injury:
