Citizen of the Month Awards
Congratulations to the winners of October's Citizen of the Month Awards for Responsibility....
Samantha T.
Meilina N.
Kalliope L.
Roshan S.
Raegan G.
Responsibility means that one acts independently and makes decisions with accountability when given the opportunity. This could be a student cleaning up after themselves before moving on to another activity without being prompted to do so. Being proactive is key to showing responsibility.
Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony this morning.
November's trait will focus on gratitude; the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
All Citizen of the Month Awards are formal dress days.

This Week at AMA
Red Ribbon Rally 10/24
On Wednesday, October 24th our students made their annual pledge to be drug free! Officer Poffenberger from the Anaheim Police Department visited our campus and spoke to our students about the dangers of drugs and importance of remaining drug free.
In following AMA tradition, students tied a red ribbon on the fence to symbolize their pledge to remain drug, alcohol, and tobacco free. You can see them displayed out on our front gate!
A Look Ahead
Late Start 11/1
As a reminder, Thursday, November 1st will be a late start day at the elementary school. School will open at 10:00am to allow our students to sleep in from trick-or-treating. Please note that morning extended care will not be available on this day.
Veterans Day
Attention Veterans!
Volunteers needed! If you, or someone you know, might be interested please reach out to Miss Maltas.
ASB Bake Sale
Our ASB Presidents are thrilled to announce AMA's second annual bake sale and would love for everyone to participate in cooking up some delicious treats! We ask that each baked good be individually wrapped and dropped off on Monday, November 12th to the front office.
The sale will take place before school, during lunch, and after school on Tuesday, November 13th and Wednesday, November 14th. Each item will be priced at $1.00. The children will vote on how to allocate the proceeds from the sale.
All School Box Top Competition
Each box top is worth 10 cents and will go directly back to special events for our students. We will provide updated counts here in the newsletter each Friday. At the end of the year, we will share the total amount raised!
The Box Top collection boxes are located on the round table in the library, along with additional Box Top collection sheets. We ask you to collect 10 box tops before submitting.
Be sure to check for Box Tops at home. They are typically found on cereal boxes, snack boxes, or even Kleenex boxes. Click here for a complete list of items with box tops!
