The Next Two Weeks......
DUE TO STAR TESTING, WE WILL CARRY THESE OBJECTIVES INTO NEXT WEEK AS WELL
- We will begin Week 3, Unit 7 in Benchmark Literacy.
- Comprehension Strategy: Make Predictions
- Metacognitive Strategy: Make Inferences
- In writing we will continue a unit on realistic fiction.
- We learn about adding multiple numbers.
- We will continue to learn about weather.
- We will continue learning about economics.
STAR Testing Begins Monday
Our third and final round of STAR Reading and Math testing begins this week. Due to testing, I will NOT be assigning homework this week.
John Fuller Presentation
Eureka Elementary school volunteers are invited to a Volunteer Luncheon on Tuesday, April 5. The luncheon will be held from 10:45 a.m. – 1:05 p.m. in our library. Please return the RSVP form by Friday, April 1 for planning purposes. We are looking forward to showing our appreciation for all of the wonderful things our volunteers do for our students and staff!
Mrs. Delia Attending MNEA Conference
As a Rockwood NEA representative, I will be attending the Missouri National Educators Association Spring Representatives Assembly at the Lake of the Ozarks to vote on various measures affecting Missouri's students and teachers. I will be out Friday afternoon (April 8) and Monday as well (April 11.)
16-17 Placement Input
It is that time of year where we begin the student placement process for our students for next school year. There are many factors involved in this team decision, including the academic and social-emotional needs of the students, learning styles, and classroom balance. We invite parent input in this team decision. Please complete theinput form with information about your child. We ask that you refrain from requesting specific teachers, since teacher placement could change. Input forms are due back by Friday, April 15.

Zoo Field Trip

To complement our study of animals, second grade will be taking a field trip to the wonderful and FREE St. Louis Zoo. We will need as many chaperones as possible. Please consider accompanying us for a fun day! Information, including a chaperone volunteer form, will be coming home soon. Thanks!
