It's School Coupon Book Time in Tennessee!
Steps to take when selling coupon books:
- Collect the $10 for each coupon book. All checks should be made payable to Farragut Intermediate School. This year you may pay for coupon books online just like you did for school fees. Click here to go to online payment. This is for both in-person and virtual.
- Send the orders and checks or money to school with your child. Please make sure it is in a labeled envelope. We will make every effort to fill your order the same day or the next morning after the money is received.
- Please DO NOT let your child sell books door to door without an adult present.

Picture Day for Virtual Learners
We are inviting our virtual learners to come to FIS for their pictures on Monday, September 28th. The following schedule will help with social distancing:
A-C @ 5:00 PM
D-G @ 5:30 PM
H-K @ 6:00 PM
L-O @ 6:30 PM
P-S @ 7:00 PM
T-Z @ 7:30 PM
These pictures will be in our 2020-2021 yearbook. Please see the attachment below that needs to be completed and brought with you for pictures.
We will be taking the following precautions for the safety and health of all:
o Students and parents will line up at the front doors and on the front sidewalk. Physical distancing must be observed in the line. Please do not bring more family members than necessary.
o All students and family members must wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose while waiting outside the school.
o A limited number of students will be allowed into the building at a time, and entry will be staggered. Each child will have their temperature taken as they enter the building, and parents will remain outside.
o Students will be physically distanced in the camera lines and will exit the school via the cafeteria doors.
o All photographers and helpers will be wearing protective gear.
o Students will remove their masks for the pictures and hold them in their lap.

Tech Tips!
Tech Tip #4
Chromebooks may be new for many adults and some students. These devices are similar but have some subtle differences to the laptop and desktop devices that many adults have at home and work. Here are a few tips to help you and your student with Chromebooks:
A. How to take screenshots:
1. Control + “Switcher” button (top of keyboard) = full screenshot
2. Control + Shift + “Switcher” = partial screenshot
3. Use the pencil button at the top for additional editing
B. How to make a split-screen: Drag a window to the top right or top left corner of your Chromebook. It will snap the window to 1/2 the size of the screen.
C. What is the difference between an app and an extension:
- Extension: Browser extensions can be downloaded for a particular purpose which is used when you are operating your browser. In essence, extensions can modify the way your browser functions. Extensions can block pop-up ads, save content from the sites you visit. Once installed they will run in the background of your browser while you are online, you must be connected to the web for the extension to work. You can access your extension right on your browser bar. To manage the extensions, you do that online as well by going into Chrome > Preferences >Extensions on the menu bar.
- Apps: Chrome Apps operate differently than the extensions. While they are downloaded from the Chrome store, they are installed onto your computer operating system, not your online browser. They run as an application running on your computer. If you are on a Mac or have an iPhone, think of the App Store. When you download something from the App store, it is installed on your device and launched by going to your applications menu, these are the same, just downloaded and installed from the Chrome store. To manage the apps, click right on the Apps icon on your browser. This will showcase all installed Chrome Apps. You can then right-click over the app you want to manage, and a menu of options will showcase.
