Here are some general reminders/announcements:
- Students should not be using the elevator unless they have a need to.
- Students are expected to push in their chairs in the cafeteria and throw away their trash.
- If a student is absent or being dismissed, a parent/guardian needs to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Students should not be using the locker room/team room during the day except for Wellness.
Thank you to all of the students who helped at the Club Fair this week! We had over 40 clubs represented. Keep an eye out for more information about all of the clubs in a future memo!
Class of 2023
We hope you are back into the swing of things at HHS. Along with Quizzes and Tests beginning to ramp up, our class events are following. Our class Homecoming, planned to be on October 15th, is only 1 month away and Senior Halloween, planned to be on the 28th of October, isn't too far either so be sure to start brainstorming your costumes. Also, please fill out this form, so we can make sure you get a class shirt that they can wear for years to come!

Class Dues: All class dues should now be paid through myschoolbucks - no more checks. Sophomore class dues are $50 until November 30th. After November 30th, they increase to $60.

New year, new T-shirt!! We are having a competition open to all sophomores to create this year's T-shirt design. If you are interested in creating a design, please email it to Mrs. Murphy by September 20th. If your design is the one Student Council votes on, you will win a gift card!
Restrictions: Must be a green T-shirt, no camo, be roughly $15 or less on Custom Ink, and must have our graduation year: 2025.

Students may enter as many poems as they wish but will only be considered for one of the prizes. There are no requirements or restrictions to the types of poems we’ll accept. All submissions are eligible for publication in the 2023 edition of Marginal, the HHS Literary Magazine, recent winner of national competitions (NCTE, ASPA).

The HHS Girls Who Code Club will be holding their first meeting on Wednesday, September 21st in C205. New members are always welcome. You do not need to know how to code to join; we can teach you! Science Bowl offers frequent presentations, groups to study in, and practice competitions. Some of the topics discussed are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, and Astronomy. Teams from Science Bowl will be competing in the National Science Bowl this year. This competition features unique trivia-based questions, which are answered with your team.

Elmwood Child Care
Looking for volunteer hours? The Elmwood School is looking for volunteers to help with child care during their upcoming Curriculum Nights. The dates are Tuesday 9/20 and Wednesday 9/21 from 6:00-7:30. The Elmwood staff would provide games, videos, coloring materials, etc. in the Elmwood cafeteria to help keep them entertained.

Congressional App Challenge
The Congressional App Challenge is the official computer science competition of the House of Representatives. Since its inception in 2013, over 30,000 students have participated in the Congressional App Challenge across 340 Congressional Districts in 50 states and five U.S. territories. This year, we are pleased to announce that the Office of Congressman Jake Auchincloss will be participating in the 2022 Congressional App Challenge. From now until November 1st, Rep. Auchincloss will be hosting a Congressional App Challenge for middle school and high school (grades 6-12) students of all coding skills who reside in the Massachusetts 4th Congressional District. The Congressional App Challenge urges all students to enter the competition, as it encourages critical thinking and creativity for those of all computer science experience levels.
Students enrolled in AP courses for 2022-23 are expected to take their AP Exams in May. Registration for AP Exams is a two-step process which must be completed prior to November 14, 2022.
1. Go to myap.collegeboard.org to to enroll in My AP Classroom, selecting your teacher and section. This allows you to access course resources online.
2. Go to www.totalregistration.net/AP/221060 to pay for your exams.
Exams cost $101.00 this year.
In order for us to be able to order your exams, you must complete these two steps!
Juniors may register for the PSAT to be administered in Hopkinton on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Registration begins in the HHS Counseling Office on September 19th and closes on October 8th. The cost of the 2022 PSAT is $35.
Please note that the PSAT is ONLY offered on October 15 in Hopkinton. There is no makeup date. Only juniors are allowed to take the PSAT at this time. Sophomores will be able to register for the PreACT in the spring.
Boys Ice Hockey

Hopkinton Athletics Boosters
The HHS Athletics Booster Store will open its doors on 9/9/22! The store's hours are during lunch period on regular school days from 11:45-1:15. All are welcome to come check out the new Hiller gear and get your spirit on! Visit our table at the Poly Arts festival on Saturday, 9/10/22, on the Hopkinton Common and again at the store on back to school night, Thursday, 9/15/22. Don't forget to become a member to earn a 10% discount on your purchases all year long and, more importantly, support all of the HHS Athletic Programs! Check out our website for more details. The Brown Bag Project
Hello, We are The Brown Bag Project! We are a non-profit organization serving those with food and shelter insecurities within Worcester, MA. The Brown Bag Project aims to cultivate an inclusive environment of individuals from all walks of life whom promote critical service learning alongside traditional service in the form of Seva. We host meetings in which we help in the creation nutritiously conscious meals, alongside resources such as information on further food, to provide to people within the homeless community. Currently, We are working towards our fundraising goal of $1,000, which we will be using to create Annual Care Kits, to provide to people during the harsh winters of MA.
