Walking School Bus Highlights

The Cheltenham Elementary Safe Routes to School Committee piloted a walking school bus on May 26th. Parent volunteers, CES staff, Resource Officer Jackie Hinchee, and Montgomery County representatives walked a group of students along Front Street to school. This pilot was organized by Director of Transportation, Mr. Jim Custer. The goal of this pilot is to work with parents in the community, who are willing to develop a permanent walking school bus. We would like to thank all the parents, volunteers, and staff that supported the walking school bus pilot.

JDRF- Walk to support cure for Juvenile Diabetes

Mr. Kelly Johnson, PE teacher, organized the 2016 JDRF Walk at CES on May 26. Cheltenham Elementary students collected funds during the month of May in support of the JDRF organization. We would like to thank all the CES students/families who supported this fundraiser and event.

4th grade Violin Performance

The 4th grade violin students performed for the entire school on May 27th. Under the direction of music teacher, Mrs. Harvey, the student performed multiple songs, including the crowd favorite "Batman." One of our talented 1st graders, Chrysn Harp, performed alongside the 4th graders. We are extremely proud of all of our 4th grade violinists. Finally, we would like to thank Mrs. Harvey for all of her support.
