1960 SNCC
Groups of white and black students were moved by Dr. King's ideas of non-violence and disobedience so they can challenge unfair segregation laws. Young students boycotted segregated businesses. To protest unfair segregation on buses the SNCC(Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee) used Freedom Rides.
1960 Sibley Commission
Georgia school districts threatened to close their schools if they were forced to desegregate. To end the practice of segregation is to desegregate. The Sibley Commission was a plan by the Georgia government.
