Caretakers for The Blind
Affects of Brain Structure & Development of the Brain
FEARLESS
People who have been blind from birth make use of the visual parts of their brain to refine their sensation of sound and touch, according to an international team of researchers (GUMC, 2010)
As the brain loses its adequate ability to see, the brain restructures itself to use other senses and life can be as fulfilling as a person that can see. As other senses are heightened the brain compensates for the visual loss (Vaughanbell, 2007).
