iMiddle Parent and Community News

What is Happening at iMiddle this week?

Monday we will be welcoming 30 Chinese students who are here to experience an American STEAM school. Our students ambassadors will be showing the students around and will be teaming up with them on our next STEAM challenge- bridge building.

Monday starts the beginning of Semester two! We are encouraging all student to start the semester strong! Report cards will be mailed home by the district office around the second week of February. Please make sure you are helping your child monitor their grades on PowerSchool at least two times a week. Zero's must be made up immediately to avoid lowered grades. If you have questions about your child's grades, contact your child's teacher directly via email.

Save the date for our Semester one awards event. If your child is on the honor role or if they received a standout award from their teacher, you will be invited to attend our assembly. See the calendar for dates. Your child will receive the invite to share with you and we will do our best in calling those who are invited with our autodialer system.

As a reminder, there is no school on Friday, February 12th and Monday, February 15th to observe the Lincoln and Washington holidays.

We still have a couple spots left for the Opera. We are also taking waiting list names. See below for more information.

Thank you for your partnership this school year!

Donut be late to school!

Every six weeks our first period classes compete for a free donut party to celebrate no tardies for the entire class. Research suggests that students who are frequently tardy have lower GPAs, lower scores on standardized assessments, and lower graduation rates. Chronic tardiness in elementary and middle school is also linked to failure in high school. Please help us in making sure your child is not late to school. Students must be in their seat by 8:00 AM. We have another 4 classes to serve on Monday- way to go iMiddle students!

School Site Council

School Site Councils (SSC) provide oversight of the academic planning and budgeting process associated with the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) in order to meet the needs of all students. SSCs provide meaningful consultation with the principal to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and revision of the SPSA, including reviewing and analyzing data; consulting with advisory groups; evaluating programs and activities; and allocating the expenditure of funds available to the school through categorical programs.

SSC Meetings will be held the third Monday of every month starting at 4:15 PM in the Library. Please plan on showing up if you want to be involved with the SSC. The next meeting is December 19th at 4:15 in the school Library.
