Return to Hybrid
22 January 2021
Dear Families,
If you have not shared your choice of instructional model for your student(s) -- Hybrid (in-person) or Brick-to-Click (remote) -- please call or email me as soon as possible!
The Vail School District has additional information on its website HERE about this unusual year and all policies, resources, and updates on education in Vail. I encourage you to review it and check it frequently for District-wide updates.
As we head back to campus, several staff members have requested leave for reasons related to COVID. While Ms BJ is on leave, Ms Reanna will be teaching in the Youngers. Ms Reanna is the regular instructional paraprofessional in the Youngers classroom and they are accustomed to her instruction and presence. Special Ed Teacher Shaine Toliver will be servicing students virtually at both Civano and VAHS. Middle School Humanities teacher Jana Dawson will be teaching remotely until Feb. 15. Her classes will be monitored and supported by Donald Reese and school support staff. Middle School math teacher Emily Chandler has relocated across the country and she will continue to teach math classes at Civano remotely until the end of the semester. Her classes will be monitored and supported by school support staff.
We are seeking parent volunteers to help us with morning crosswalk duty. If you are interested in volunteering, please consider signing up HERE. Nicole will be in contact with you to review details and information.
Please review the rest of this newsletter for relearning expectations and procedures while we are in the Hybrid phase of learning.
Thank you for being a part of our school. I am here to help and answer questions.
Warmly,
Lydia
