Messy Week

May 13 - May 17

Creativity Takes Courage

When we set out for messy week, we were taking on a challenge. We provided several hands-on activities for the kids this week that were messy for them and even messier for us. They enjoyed every minute of each activity and wanted more! I hope this summer brings your family several opportunities to get creative with your children!

"Every Child is an Artist" Pablo Picasso

"Imagination will often take us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere." - Carl Sagan

We read several stories this week about creating something out of simple objects just by using your imagination. We read, "Not a Box" and "Not a Stick". These books showed us that a box and a stick can be turned into several different things when we use our imagination.

We also read a book called "ish". This book shows us that we all are good artists even if our drawings don't look exactly like we want them to. They look perfect-ish!
