Reading Round Up
We are also working on building our reading stamina. Please help your student by encouraging them to read nightly. Maybe you could even find a book to read together! You'd be amazed at the great conversations that can occur as a result of a great book.
Writing Notes
We are nearing the end of our magazine article writing piece! Most of the students worked on their final draft this week. I am so impressed with their articles. This writing piece was one that the students have worked on for weeks. They have put a lot of hard work and thought into this project. Next week, we will wrap up our nonfiction writing unit.
In the coming weeks, we will move to persuasive writing. The students will create their own PSA. They will brainstorm a list of things that they feel passionate about. We will discuss claims, as well as the importance in having evidence to back up claims that we make.
