EUROPE 2020 FIELD TRIP INTEREST MEETING : DECEMBER 13, 2018 @ BRIGGS ELEMENTARY
Dear Parents and Students,
I’m excited to announce that I am investigating the possibility of taking a group of students on a once‐in‐a‐lifetime educational adventure, "Castles & Crowns!" The trip will last 9 days and will visit both England and Scotland. This trip is being planned for the summer of 2020 and is open to all current fifth, sixth and seventh grade students. Students will explore important historic sites, discover the diversity and heritage of different cultures, and return home with a new found global perspective. This trip will be an unforgettable educational experience.
I’ve chosen to travel with WorldStrides because of their exceptional service, their glowing reviews from other teachers in our community, and their strong safety record. Their programs offer the perfect mixture of fun and learning, and provide everything we need for the trip of a lifetime!
For more details about WorldStrides and this trip, please plan to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the Briggs Cafeteria. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Murrie at jmurrie@FSD1.org .
I would love for your student to join us on this unforgettable trip!
Enroll by Thursday, December 20, 2018 with voucher code Earlybird2020 for significant savings off the trip!

DON'T "BEE" LEFT OUT: JOHN W. MOORE SPELLING BEE 2019
We are excited to announce that John W. Moore will be participating in our 3rd Annual Spelling Bee this year. This Spelling Bee is open to ALL 5th and 6th grade students!
Individual class spelling bees will need to be held between December 12 and 19 in the ELA classrooms to determine one class winner from each class; each Pride will then need to have a Pride Bee to determine 1 winner from each Pride.
Our School-Wide Spelling Bee will be held on Friday, January 18th at 8:30 am.
A letter went home with ALL students on Monday, December 3. Both grade levels received the same letter, however 5th and 6th graders have separate lists of words which are printed on the back of the letter.
Please promote this with your students and help make this something FUN for everyone at Moore! Everyone seemed to enjoy the Spelling Bee the past two years.
More details on the class bees will be going out soon to all ELA teachers. J
Thank you so much and Happy Spelling!!
