The D103 Board of Education this week approved the school calendar for the 2022-2023 school year.

Some of the calendar highlights follow:

• August 18 - First Day of School
• November 22-25 - No School for Thanksgiving Break
• December 23 to January 6 - No School for Winter Break
• March 27-31 - No School for Spring Break
• June 1 - Last Day of School, Early Dismissal (if no emergency days are used)

iPadOS (operating system) 15.3 is now available. We are asking that you please assist your Grades 3-8 students to make sure their device is up to date as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, February 11, 2022.

To check for iPadOS updates, use the following steps:

1. Tap on the Settings app (gray gear)

2. Tap “General”

3. Tap “Software Update”

4. If there’s an update available, you will see information about the update, followed by an “Install Now” button.

1. please make sure the iPad is:

• plugged into power,

• has at least 50% battery,

• has 6 GB (recommended) of free space,

• then proceed with the update.

5. If the iPad says “Your software is up to date,” then you’re all set.

Please complete these steps as soon as possible in order to maintain the best possible security on your child’s iPad.

The next Board of Education meeting will occur at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. The notice and agenda can be found on the District 103 Board meeting website page. D103 board meetings are being held in-person and live-streamed each month on our YouTube Channel. Members of the community should attend the meeting at 111 Barclay Boulevard, Lincolnshire if they would like to make a public comment. The public can also contact the Board at board@d103.org.

D103 Calendar of Events

Please join the PTO in its second annual Valentine's Day Treats fundraiser with Max and Benny's. Ten percent of sales will be donated back to the D103 PTO while you get to enjoy delicious treats just in time for Valentine's Day. It's a win-win! Choose from a selection of cookies, brownies, pretzels and more. There's even a DIY cookie kit for the creator in all of us. Valentine's Day orders are due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4.
