Daisy
Daisy and I have been acclimating to AMS with weekly visits to campus. In conjunction with these visits, I've been giving short lessons through the announcements on what to expect and how to interact with Daisy (introduction to and interacting at the gate). I have plans for at least 2 more short lessons through broadcast (interacting in the classroom and interacting in the hallway).
The Humble ISD Foundation funded our grant for the training for this so that Daisy can help support the culture of AMS by boosting mood and teaching personal responsibility and respect. If things go as planned, she will be on campus working toward these goals for at least a half a day a week for the entire school year.
As we wrap up our introductory lessons, Daisy and I are ready to start planning for more varied interactions with AMS students and staff. I'll be launching a schoolwide PBIS raffle in a few weeks so that students can "buy" one-on-one time with her. If you want us to drop by one (or more) of your classes (after the interacting in the classroom lesson rolls out) or if you know of a student who could use some one-on-one time with Daisy, you can request time/refer students here. This form will be active all year, so bookmark it and use it at any time.
