A Message from Mrs. Caudill
I have a sign that hangs on my refrigerator at home that say, "People may not believe what you say, but they will always believe what they see." I am constantly telling people how wonderful the Amerman community is. I will go on and on (to anyone that will listen) about the level of support provided to our students and teachers. The last seven days is proof of what I have been saying.
This past Saturday two groups of volunteers descended upon Amerman to improve our school grounds and add a little fun to the playground. The Boy Scouts of pack 755, their parents and other volunteers came together to weed and mulch around the entire school. Their team efforts made quick work. At the same time, the Amerman Dad's Club came together to put together the Gaga Ball pit the PTA purchased for us last winter.
I also could not let this week end without thanking our fantastic PTA and all the parents that spoiled our staff this week during teacher and staff appreciation week. We could feel the love.
A huge thank you to our volunteer groups and our PTA. You are some of the many reasons Amerman is such a fantastic place to be!
Stay well,
Devon Caudill
P.S. - Happy Mother's Day to all of our Amerman Moms!

Leader in Me Parent Survey
As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School we are always working on continuous improvement. Each year we ask parents to take a short survey. These surveys are used to annually collect, analyze, and report student, staff, and school-level outcomes related to the focus on improving leadership, culture, and academics. They help us identify our strengths and weaknesses, develop improvement plans, and monitor progress. Please complete the survey below. All of your responses are completely anonymous. The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
Speaking of being a Lighthouse School, I am excited to announce that we were just recertified as a Lighthouse School! This certification is good for another two years. Thanks to our students, staff and community for all their support. Without us working together to strengthen leadership within, this would not be possible.

May Focus: Integrity! Habit 8: Find your Voice!
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of May is Integrity and our Habit of the Month is Habit 8: Find you Voice!
This month’s Habit: Habit #8 - Find your Voice
What this means: Find your voice means finding something that you are good at and like doing. You are proud, but do not boast. Instead, you use your expertise to help and inspire others.
Physical: Learn your true nature and gifts, then use them to envision what you can achieve.
Social/Emotional: We all have a purpose and special talents.
Mental: Transcend the negative culture of ego, scarcity, comparison, and competitiveness.
Spiritual: Be a catalyst to the success of something bigger than ourselves.
What I can do:
- Try something new like painting, horseback riding, or baseball. Then ask yourself: Did I enjoy myself? Was it easy or hard? Do I want to learn more?
- Go to the library or search the internet to find reading material on new things. What kinds of things spark your interest? What do you want to continue learning about?
- Plan some time to help someone in need. How did the experience make you feel?
Great Books for Habit #8- Find Your Voice
- Wonder by: R.J. Palacio
- The Lion Inside by: Rachel Bright
- Separate is Never Equal by: Duncan Tonatiuh
- Wonderland by: Barbara O'Connor
- Those Shoes by: Maribeth Boelts
