Facilities Planning Committee Members Needed
As part of the district’s facilities planning process, District 204 is seeking community members to participate on the facilities planning committees. District 204 will be holding a series of meetings, starting in early September, based on the three feeders. During the meetings, the facilities planning committees will gather information and make recommendations to set priorities in our facilities plan. READ MORE HERE
Faith's Law Resource Guide
Faith’s Law, which focuses on sexual misconduct in schools, was passed by the 102nd General Assembly as two separate pieces of legislation. The first legislation, Public Act 102-0676, took effect on December 3, 202​1, ​and the second legislation, Public Act 102-0702, took effect on July 1, 2023. The Faith’s Law Resource Guide is available on the IPSD website. To learn more about Faith’s Law, visit the ISBE website.
Parent University: School Safety & Security
Parent University: School Safety & Security, will premiere as a video presentation on the District’s YouTube channel on Thursday, September 14 at 7 PM. District 204’s School Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Ron Wilke, will lead a discussion with School Resource Officers from the Aurora Police Department on various aspects of school safety. He will also discuss ALICE training, reunification in a critical incident, and the DuSMART collaboration. If you have questions, you can submit school safety questions here. Questions will be answered and posted on the District’s Safety & Security webpage.
Railroad Crossing Closure - Montgomery & Normantown
In an effort to keep you informed about transportation issues that may impact your child’s ride to and from school, District 204 is sharing information on an upcoming issue that will impact transportation across the district. The Illinois Central/Canadian National (IC/CN) Railway notified the City of Aurora and City of Naperville that they are going to close the railroad crossing on Montgomery Road near Normantown Road from September 25 - 28. City of Naperville Seeks Student Representatives for Boards and Commissions
Naperville Mayor Scott A. Wehrli and the Naperville City Council invite all Naperville resident high school students to fill student positions on several City boards and commissions and participate in a Leadership Academy, presented through a partnership with KidsMatter. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023.
Next Board of Education Meeting - September 11
The next regular Board of Education meeting is at 7 PM on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora. Meeting agendas and documents will be available online prior to the meeting. Video of the regular meeting can be streamed live or viewed the following day at the District’s YouTube channel.
