St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 10 | 2 JULY 2020
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends. Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to appreciate what others do for us and to give time and effort to help others. To be peacemakers in our family. Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term at St Columba's .
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and school community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen
Message form the Principal
We have reached the end of what has been a very disruptive term for our students and families due to COVID-19. I would like to thank everyone, families, students and staff for the way that they have dealt with the issues we have faced due to the Corona Virus. Next term we should be back to some kind of ‘normal.’
At this stage The Sacrament of Penance and Eucharist will be held between Nov 13 and 28. The Sacrament of the Eucharist will be held over two weekends, due to there being two Year 4 classes. We will wait until the end of Week 1 next term before we confirm any dates on the school calendar just in case there are any hiccups with COVID-19.
Once again, I need to remind some families that they need to adhere to the school parking policy and the street verge signage. Parking is not permitted in ‘no standing or parking' zones and cars that do not follow the street and verge signage face a possible fine from the Ranger. Your help in this matter is very much appreciated.
A reminder, students will finish this term on Friday July 3 and resume school on Tuesday July 21. Monday July 20 is a pupil free day.
I wish everyone a safe and restful holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back at school in
Term 3.
God Bless and keep safe.

Health lunchboxes
A healthy lunchbox keeps children fuelled for a long day of learning and play and supports growth and development. Lunchboxes should contain about one third of a child’s food for the day. Remember to also pack a water bottle and a Crunch Sip snack, preferably vegetables.

New healthy options on canteen menu
The school canteen is an integral part of the learning environment, and as such should operate in a manner that supports the health messages of curriculum. Schools* are required to follow the Department of Education’s Healthy Food and Drink (HFD) policy.
As part of this St Columba’s have looked into ways to create a greener canteen that offers a range of healthier options. Please see the attached menu for Term 3.
