January SVT & STEM Newsletter

January 2022 Edition

Katie's Message

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing holiday season and is ready for the great things that 2022 has in store for us! January is a fresh start and also an end, as first semester will conclude on January 28th. We will have early dismissal on both Thursday, January 27th, and Friday, January 28th. We will send out detailed bell schedules closer to time. Our staff is here for students who might be struggling in a class or is working to get a grade up so if your student needs help, please have them reach out to their teachers. We will continue to have our weekly tutoring sessions on Tuesday and we have seen really great attendance! We are glad that this has been utilized by students!

We are seeing a rise in student illnesses. While we know students want to be at school and we certainly want them here, we also need to continue to proceed with caution. If your student is experiencing COVID related symptoms, even mild, please keep them home from school. We appreciate your help in keeping our students and staff healthy!

January and February are a busy time as we work to invite our new students for next year. If you know of a student who might be a great fit for the STEM Academy and/or the Skill Center, please have them check out our website at spokanevalleytech.org. Word of mouth is one of the best tools we have for finding our next great students!

Have a wonderful month and don’t forget to enjoy some Panera on Tuesday, January 11th, to support our PTO Eat Out Night!

All the best,

Katie Louie
