Congratulations to Mrs. Brandie Hoover for being named Teacher of the Year!!!!! Mrs. Brandie is a 7th grade Math teacher, who also serves as a Jr. Beta Sponsor and Student Council Sponsor. We are lucky to have you on the EMS team!

EHS Homecoming week is October 3-7, 2022. Please see the attached flyers that have been sent home. Each person will need a visitation pass for each school.

Erath Middle School Details:

*EHS HOCO Travel Party will visit at 9:50-10:10

*Visitation will begin at 10:10 and last until 11:00 AM

*All visitors MUST obtain a ticket to enter for visitation.

*No bags will be allowed on campus

*Visitation will conclude at 11:00 AM

*Checking out procedures will be established by school administration and there will be no deviations from the plans put into place.

*Student will report to the parade site at 12:30

Erath Middle School Football

The Erath Middle School Football players were recognized recently at the EHS football game on Thursday, September 15, 2022. The boys have been working hard and representing EMS well. They had their first win this past week against Iberia Middle School.

Cross Country News

The Erath Middle School Cross Country team has been very successful at the many different meets that they have attended.

*4 mile relay held at QSA on 9/3/22, both boys and girls took 1st place out of 6 teams

*The Sargent Memorial Jr High Meet @ Avery Island on 9/10/22 - Boys placed 1st Overall and Girls placed 5th

*LCA Invitational in Duson on 9/17/22 - Boys finished first as a team/Girls and Boys had many personal records attained.

*Rebel Challenge at Acadiana Park in Lafayette on 9/28/22 - Girls finished 4th out of 15 schools and Boys finished 1st out of 15 competing teams

EMS is very proud of all of their hard work and successes.

Erath Middle School Leadership Team

EMS Leadership Team represented our school at Jr. Beta Leadership Summit 2022. Congratulations to the teams who qualified for National Exhibitions in Louisville, Kentucky and Emma Hebert for earning Louisiana Leadership Representative.

4-H News

4-H Meeting is October 10th. Students can wear 4-H t-shirt with uniform bottoms.

National 4-H Week is October 2-8, 2022.

Officers were elected at the last meeting held at Erath Middle School.

Make a Difference Day/School Beautification Day

Saturday, October 1, 2022, students, parents, and faculty members gathered to donate various items for Jr. Beta Make a Difference Day, clean up our school grounds and paint doors and benches. We would like to thank all the volunteers that made this day such a success! It's a Great Day to be a Bobcat!!!!!

Retiree Ms. Dianna Trahan

Long time EMS head janitor begins a new journey into retirement. She has been in Vermilion parish for the past 21 years. The faculty, staff, and students wish Ms. Dianna Trahan the best of luck on her retirement. Thank you for your years of service at EMS!
