SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Activities galore will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 23 when the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History hosts a Spring Break Day Out for students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
Participants will experience a guided tour through the museum's exhibit hall and explore Northwest Arkansas history from prehistoric times all the way up to modern day. They will also learn about the many different types of weaving and have an opportunity to create a woven item to take home. In addition, students will learn about log cabins while seeing first-hand the preservation work taking place on our 1850s Ritter-McDonald Log Cabin on our museum grounds.
Lunch will be provided at this free event. Because space is limited, registration is required by visiting https://shilohmuseum.org/events/spring-break/
Join the FUN during Spring Break at the Springdale Public Library!!
Trailside Coffee Company is dog-friendly and offers pup cups for your 4-legged best friend. The folks at The Odd Soul also love dogs, so be sure to stop in for lunch. Work off that tasty meal with a walk around the beautiful Turnbow Park and finish the day with a package of dog treats from Maple Market.
Spring break is the perfect opportunity to put on your walking shoes and check out our mural tour (find it in our website). We would love to see your photos of the beautiful art work downtown, so be sure to tag us @downtownspringdale! Once you've worked up an appetite, stop in at Casa Alejo for a bite to eat.
Hierbitas de Saberes (Tiny Herbs of Knowledge) by New York City-based artist Blanka Amezkua is inspired by the Cruz-Badiano codex; a guide to the medicinal plants used in Mexico to cure ailments before the arrival of the Spaniards. On view now at the Famous Hardware building in Downtown Springdale, Blanka’s hope is that with Hierbitas de Saberes we reconsider the infinite ways our collective past can continue to nurture and cure our present.
Famous Hardware exhibitions are a collaboration between CACHE and the Downtown Springdale Alliance with funding support provided by the Tyson Family Foundation.
