5th Grade Merryhill Memos/Memories
Week 33 – 4/23 ~ 4/27
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.
~ Marcel Proust, French Author
This Week in 5th Grade
Language Arts: Students will get a chance to work on their Wrinkle in Time Literary Analysis and Sci-Fi dramas longhand. Believe it or not, the class is excited about that! We will also write our letters of gratitude to those that made the past week memorable. :)
Math: Blended Learning will take place in the IDEA Studio and Measurement Conversion concepts will continue to be explored in the classroom.
Social Studies: Students will learn and teach each other, with guidance, about the reforms and changes in the United States prior to the Civil War.
Special Note: As of this week, students will need to conduct research at home for their State Report. We may have some limited access to the IDEA Studio computers, however, this cannot be promised.
Science: Students will revisit and begin work on new school-wide improvement innovations and design thinking as part of their "think tank" IDEA Machine Innovation Fair contribution. They are taking solution requests now!
