A geometric pattern is a design that shows abstract shapes, lines, polygons, circles and squares. This type of art has a more rigid quality as compared to the organic designs. Elements of a pattern repeat in a predictable manner.

A Timeline is linear representation of important events in the order in which they occur. A Timeline would be an example of pattern by dates in order, or events

A Greek Key is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line.

Carpet is a textile floor covering consisting of an upper layer of "pile" attached to a backing.

Jewelry is objects of precious metal or plastic often set with gems or bands worn for personal adornment.
Nature
Patterns in nature are visible rhythm found in the natural world. Natural patterns include symmetries, trees, spirals, waves, foams, cracks and stripes. The Fibonacci numbers are natures numbering system is an example. Many plants show the Fibonacci numbers in the arrangement of the leaves around the sun.
Cultural
African patterns are based on ethic designs, and are always faithful in spirt. They make them more suitable for design work. This includes drawings, and clothing, and other things.
Scientific
A example of a pattern in science is a food chain. A food chain is a single path as animals eat each other.It starts out with the sun, and the that gives energy to a producer, then gets eaten by a primary consumer, then by a secondary consumer, and then by tertiary consumers, and then that goes to a decomposer, and that goes back to a producer
Deck of cards
A deck of cards is not only a pattern by the colors but by the number. It starts out as a Ace, then a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, then a Jack, Queen, King. So when you play cards you usually put them in that order.
Checkers
Checkers is a pattern of modified stripes consisting of crossed horizontal or vertical lines forming squares.
