BREAKOUT! Let's Play a Game!
I have a game for you! One of the hottest things right now in education is the "BreakOut". If you haven't heard of it- think escape room meets curriculum. I don't have any physical boxes to play with so I have made you a digital breakout , and they are super fun! Go to the site http://springbreakout.weebly.com/ to get started. It may take a little while to find all the clues but everything you need is there. I will post the solutions to the locks in the next Geekly, the Friday after Spring Break. Any staff member from LTHS or CTE who completes the Breakout before the answers are released will be entered to win a Sonic gift card. You are welcome to work as a team, but be sure to each submit the form separately so you each get credit. Anyone who completes the breakout will receive a certificate. Kids are welcome to assist you. Good Luck!
Tool of the Week- Blendspace
I am not really sure how to describe Blendspace. It isn't a digital poster maker, and it isn't a web site creator, but it is a space where you can bring together different resources and activities for your class to create a lesson. That might not be a good enough description either, because I think it would be a disservice to not see that it could be a tool for student creation as well.
If you ever do anything that is a webquest or is webquest-like, this would be a great tool for you to use. You could put the URL to your blendspace in Google Classroom and this would be a fantastic way to create flipped lessons or lessons to use when you are going to be out.
Below is a 3 minute quick overview of Blendspace. If you use it, be sure to let me know how it goes! I would love to know how it can solve a problem for you!
