Welcome Back!!
What is PBIS and Why do we use it?
What?: PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a data-driven system of interventions, strategies and supports that positively impact school-wide and individualized behavior planning. (This is why putting information into Infinity is important.)
Why?: Teaching behavioral expectations and rewarding students for following them is a much more positive approach than waiting for misbehavior to occur before responding. The purpose of school-wide PBIS is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm.
Beginning of the Year Reminders
-- Please remember to look over the School-Wide Expectations Chart and teach expectations to students within the first week of school.
-- Paws should be given out after teaching the expectations. One idea is to take one area and concentrate on that for a few days before moving on to the next. Hand out paws in abundance at first and then decrease in frequency.
-- All paws given to students will go towards either their classroom or individual goal.
