Many occurrences of hurricanes form near southern Atlantic Ocean. The science behind hurricanes is they gather heat and energy through contact with warm ocean water.

How to Prepare for a Hurricane...

Before
- Build an emergency kit.
- Make family communications plan.
- Bring outdoor materials inside, such as heavy objects.

During
- Don't open refrigerator or freezer, it will keep your food cold.
- Stay inside during the eye of the storm.
- Stay away from glass and other breakable objects.
- Listen to parents or safety authorities, for important information.

After
- Don't go outside without an adult.
- Tell parents if you smell gas.
- Text don't talk.
- Don't go near loose or dangling wires.
