the death of 2 lovers
by Jacob Brewer
Although he was only trying to do something good, Friar Laurence is the one to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Laurence knew what he was doing could cause major problem but still went through with it. Friar Laurence Was confronted by romeo at the church with a very serious problem, according to romeo, he found this perfect girl while he was at a Capulet party, and wants to get married. Friar Laurence accepts the offer saying, “In one respect i'll thy assistant be; for this alliance may so happily prove,To turn your households’ rancour to pure love” (2.3.90-92). At first Friar Laurence did not believe that Romeo was really in love, but romeo kept on pushing him, and then finally said yes, but not to be nice, but in hopes that this marriage might end the feud between the Capulet and Montague. Another reason Friar Laurence messed up is when he game Juliet the potion to put he to sleep, giving her a possible solution for the problem she was facing, “Take thou this vial, being then in bed,/And this distilled liquor drink thou off;/When presently through all thy veins shall run/A cold and drowsy humour” (4.2.93-96). Her problem was that Her father told her that she was going to get married to Paris, but since she was already married to romeo, she did not like this idea one bit, so she ran to friar Laurence, weeping that she needs a solution or she will kill herself so Friar Laurence proposed to have her fake her own death. This may not seem like a big deal but everything after this went completely wrong. and then when Romeo heard about the death of Juliet he killed himself so that they could be together, and then when Juliet woke up to the sight of her dead husband she killed herself, and all of this was Friar Laurence's fault because his plan to fake Juliet's death screwed up everything, and then He wouldn't of had to do that if he didn't get them married.
Comparing song
I'm bleeding out
So if the last thing that I do
Is bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So I bare my skin
And I count my sins
And I close my eyes
And I take it in
I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you, for you.
When the day has come
That I've lost my way around
And the seasons stop and hide beneath the ground
When the sky turns gray
And everything is screaming
I will reach inside
Just to find my heart is beating
Oh, you tell me to hold on
Oh, you tell me to hold on
But innocence is gone
And what was right is wrong
'Cause I'm bleeding out
So if the last thing that I do
Is to bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So I bare my skin
And I count my sins
And I close my eyes
And I take it in
And I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you (for you)
When the hour is nigh
And hopelessness is sinking in
And the wolves all cry
To fill the night with hollering
When your eyes are red
And emptiness is all you know
With the darkness fed
I will be your scarecrow
You tell me to hold on
Oh you tell me to hold on
But innocence is gone
And what was right is wrong
'Cause I'm bleeding out
So if the last thing that I do
Is to bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So I bare my skin
And I count my sins
And I close my eyes
And I take it in
And I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you, for you.
I'm bleeding out for you (for you)
I'm bleeding out for you (for you)
I'm bleeding out for you (for you)
I'm bleeding out for you
'Cause I'm bleeding out
So if the last thing that I do
Is to bring you down
I'll bleed out for you
So I bare my skin
And I count my sins
And I close my eyes
And I take it in
And I'm bleeding out
I'm bleeding out for you, for you.
this resembles my explanation because it kin of how romeo and Juliet felt for each other, and how they would kill themselves just to be together. although it doesn't really describe how friar caused them to die it kind of is relates to when Juliet went to the friar for advise and he gave her the potion and that was a bad choice was a bad choice because it made romeo kill himself because he thought Juliet died.
