Dandelions
Normally I start these smores with some of my own thoughts but I had to share this blog from one of my PLN (Professional Learning Network) friends. His name is Jon Harper (Jonharper70bd) and the blur of the subway in the background is purposeful. I often don't stop long enough to enjoy the important things in life, those little fleeting things that often only happen once. The perspective Jon shares in this blog is something I need to do better. It's called Dandelions and is well worth the read. Here is the link.

Staff Appreciation Week
Thanks to the PTO and our great families, we sure felt appreciated this week. Cookies on Monday, lunch on Tuesday, extended lunch for staff on Wednesday, and breakfast on Thursday. Each day was more awesome than the next. Friday is yet to come, but there will definitely be something great I'm sure. Thanks to all of you for making feel so appreciated. Check out the pictures below.

Katie's Krops date has been changed, and we could still use some volunteers!
Due to a conflict with Troybilt, we have had to change the date of our groundbreaking for Katie's Krops to Thursday, May 21st at 4:00. Katie's Krops is an organization that grows crops during the summer months. These crops are then given to local food pantries. If you are able to volunteer, please contact me.

7th grade families needed
It is the tradition in Merton that 7th grade families host the 8th grade graduation reception following the ceremony. Each family is to provide two dozen bars or cookies for the occasion. If you are interested and able to chair the event, please don't hesitate to contact the office.
