Do you know what convection is? convection is the transfer of heat through the the movement of fluid. A convection is a hot air balloon. A hot air balloon rises because the balloon contains air that is warmer air. If a pocket of air is heated , it will rise because is less dense than the surrounding air.
Convection is a example by boiling water inside a pot. As it reaches to the cooler temperatures higher in the atmosphere it cools, creating the clouds. Convection also drives the movement of tectonic plates.
