Holy Trinity Catholic School
Home of the Saints - September 15, 2015
A Note from the Principal's Desk:
- Now that we are into a good routine of school, we are seeing students settle in and arrive very close to the tardy times. Please make an effort to have students to school on time, as it sets the tone for the day! Thank you for your promptness.
- This Friday, September 18th is officially "Midterm" for the first quarter. As every family has access to Sycamore, we ask that you login and click on your child's picture and view grades so that you know how your child is doing. If you are noticing struggles that your child is having, it is important that you reach out to the teacher(s), if they have not already reached out to you, so that school and home can work together to find creative solutions to lessen the struggles. Remember, you may access Sycamore at ANY time to view daily assignments, grades, the school calendar, financial accounts, etc.
- As we are working to support our community, we will be sponsoring a "Walking Clothes" day on Monday, September 21st. Students and staff may bring $1, which will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul walk for the Poor, and wear ATHLETIC shorts/pants for the day. Thank you for supporting a worthy cause!
- Mark your Calendar: Book Fairs will be held on September 28th-30th at Central Campus and October 6th - 8th at East Campus. This is a great way to encourage your children to be readers! Watch for information in the purple folders over the next few weeks!
- On Friday, September 25th, we will have an All School Mass at 9:00am at the East Campus, Holy Family. All students need to follow Mass dress code on Friday, September 25th - this means solid color collared shirts/sweatshirts or Holy Trinity spirit wear with shorts/shirts/pants that are jean/khaki/navy/black . As this will be the only Mass this week, all other days are non-Mass dress code.
Mrs. Sally Sternberg
As we prepare for the historic visit of Pope Francis to the US next week Sept 22-27, we will encourage our students to "Walk with Francis" and to take to heart the message the students at Cristo Rey heard from Pope Francis in the video below.

From the Cafeteria:
National School Lunch Week 2015 is next month (October 12-16) and the cafeteria is planning a few new menu items for the week. We will be promoting the additions with students leading up to (and during) that week, so please help us by encouraging your children to try the new items.
Calling all Kale lovers!! National Kale Day is October 7, 2015. Along with celebrating National School Lunch Week in October, schools across the country will be celebrating National Food Day. This year's celebration food is kale! If you have a recipe you'd like to make and share with your child's class during the month of October, please let his/her teacher know.
Cafeteria policy, according to both the Indiana Department of Health and the Indiana Department of Education - Child Nutrition Division, is that there is to be NO FOOD SHARING in the cafeteria. Please be sure to communicate this to your children.
Volunteer Opportunities: East campus is in need of a volunteer to help serve lunches every Wednesday from 11:15-12:15. Central campus is in need of volunteers to help serve lunches from 11:15-12:15 every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please contact Mary Ramirez(812-482-4461 ext. 163) if you are able to help.
