HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 1 Week 8 Friday 25 March
The Archdiocese of Perth has shared this reflection on the Stations of the Cross. It is for adults, and takes about half an hour. It is really well done, you may like to take a look.
FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
We are delighted to wish our Year Six students and their teachers Kate and Pete a very successful Adventure next week. It is not a camp - because we canât - but there are four amazing action packed, fun filled days ahead. The children are so looking forward to the opportunity.
Our Pre-Primary âAssemblyâ and Merit Award presentations are on next week. We look forward to both of these occasions!
Updated information for the Swimming Carnival for Years Three to Six - again done with a difference - is in our newsletter today and takes place the week after next. It makes a nice change to be able to invite you along.
Have a lovely weekend. You may even need an umbrella!
Mark

COVID CONVERSATION CONTINUED.....
A reminder to please report any cases of children on the self reporting portal created by CEWA for Catholic schools. (see link below)
For health advice, and clarity on isolation etc please contact WA Health on 1300 316 555.
We have one active case of covid in school with no close school contacts identified. Families of that class have been notified. We do have a few children away as they have identified as close contacts of people outside of school. If they test positive then of course our situation changes.
Your vigilance makes all the difference. Again we have people going beyond the covid parameters, for example keeping close contacts of close contacts away until the cloud has passed. This, together with all unwell people staying away from school and rising vaccination rates sees us doing all we can to keep safe, happy and open. Our attendance rates at the moment are fantastic compared to many other nearby schools. Thank you so much for your support.
Project Compassion
Can all project compassion boxes please be returned to the class teacher or front office by Monday 4th April. We will then take these boxes to the Holy Rosary Parish. Thank you everyone for your kind donations.
Edudance 2022
Our Edudance sessions are coming to an end đ„! The children have been working âSaturday Night Feverishlyâđșđ» to get their boogie on for you to enjoy. Like all performances for this year, due to Government regulations regarding Covid 19, we will be filming the classesâ final performances on their regular Edudance day in Week 10.
Once all the recordings have been finalised, we will upload and distribute them digitally for your enjoyment. A friendly reminder will be sent out next week via SeeSaw about costumes and the day they will need to bring in their outfits for their classesâ concert. Thank you for your understanding and we canât wait for you to see their dance!

Holy Rosary Swimming Carnival 2022 Year 3 â 6 Update #1
Location: Outdoor pool, HBF Stadium April 8.
Hi Everyone
-
At this point, regulations permitting, our carnival is going ahead. Parents and guardians are welcome too!
-
The format is quite different as you can see below. Accordingly we expect parents and guardians to come and go depending on which grade is in the water, to stay in their area well away from the children, and to self manage covid expectations.
-
In accordance with those expectations and to keep distance between parents/guardians and all of the children, all children will be returning to school on the buses and not be taken home from the carnival.
General Information
Students will travel to HBF Stadium in buses, with the first year group leaving school at 8:40am. The carnival is expected to start at 9:00am in the ten lane outdoor pool. Once their events are concluded students will return to school by bus.
When they arrive students will be sitting in the grandstand on the eastern side on the pool. Students need to bring their hat, faction uniform, mask, bathers, towel, sunscreen, drinks. They may choose to wear a rashie and faction swimming cap in their events if they wish. Children will wear their masks when not swimming.
The overall schedule for the day is outlined below. I will publish a detailed list of events next week after the official program has been written.
8:30am Year 3 go to class and teachers will do attendance. They will then board the bus at 8:40am to arrive at the pool by 9am.
9am â 10:15am Year 3 Events
10:15am â 11:30am Year 4 Events
11:30am â 12:45pm Year 5 Events
12:45pm â 2pm Year 6 Events
Year 6 Return to school at 2:10pm
Parents are permitted to attend the event. Please sit in the elevated grandstand (pictured on the next page) at the western side of the pavilion and do not enter the swimming pool deck. We also ask that masks are worn at all times and that you responsibly social distance.
I would like to thank all of the parent helpers that have so far offered to help. I would still love another 4 timers. If you are able to assist on the day we would love to hear from you. Simply email admin@hrs.wa.edu.au and let me know that you are able to assist. We require that parent helpers are fully vaccinated and wear a mask at all times.
We are so pleased to be having our carnival. Thank you for your understanding and support.

LIBRARY NEWS
What a wonderful start to the Project Compassion Book Sale! Thank you to our years 4, 5 and 6 families for supporting such a worthy cause. We hope you enjoy your books! Next Thursday 31 March, our PP-3 classes will come at different times to enjoy the book sale. Please send along a 20c or 50c piece if you would like your child to purchase a book.
A reminder that if your child is at home and runs out of books to read, they can access Wheelers eBooks on their iPad on the little blue and white app (looks like a seagull) using their mathletics passwords to log in.
Happy reading!
