BARBER BULLETIN
April 16-20 Creating Joyful Leaders and Learners
LEADING UP: Consider applying!
Participants study the qualities that make an effective leader, analyze individual leadership roles and assess their personal leadership style and skill. They are challenged to apply their skills by taking leadership roles within their schools, departments, and the district.
Each participant will have exposure to leadership roles in the district, participate in shared readings, complete a Passion Project, and receive re-certification hours upon completion of the seven leadership development sessions. The overall outcome is for each participant to leave with the confidence to lead from where you are.
Attendance requirements reflect the commitment necessary to fully nurture and develop personal leadership skills. Participants and their supervisors must be willing to commit the necessary time to fully participate in the program. Attendance is expected for all sessions. Please check over schedules thoroughly to ensure no conflicts with dates and times.
Leading Up is:
- Professional Development for all staff members
- Inspiring and Equipping staff with confidence and skills to “Lead from where you are”
- Building the capacity of leaders throughout Richland School District Two

- Please reserve the paved parking lot in the back for field day activities. Parking spaces are available in the space formerly known as HeadStart or Spears Creek.
- We are often asked about staff wearing shorts; there are certainly okay but keep keep in mind that the length of the shorts should be appropriate.
- We will all enjoy a hospitality room in the lounge. Please contribute by sharing something salty or sweet.
- Lunch from Alberts Deli will be coordinated by Lisa Rayner.
Update from Faculty Advisory Council
Dear PE faculty,
We met today for our April Faculty Advisory Council Meeting. Our agenda was mainly a Community Conversation based around Diversity and Multicultural Inclusion. We addressed three points:
1. What does our district do well in this area?
2. What can we do better?
3. How can we make those changes?
After round table discussions, Dr. Davis adjourned the meeting by challenging us to be sure we are "rich in the practice of inclusion in our own class rooms."
Another Community Conversation will be held on May 2nd and the topic will be School Safety. They will hopefully be offering a live stream and running a live social media feed for this event.
Please let Stephanee or Christina know if you have any questions.
