The Wilmot Word: 03-17-2023
The Week at Wilmot
This was an amazing week at Wilmot! Our kindergarteners and 1st graders had a great visit with author and illustrator, Jacob Grant. Thank you to the Book Stall in Winnetka and Ms. Lathan for organizing this special visit. Mr. Grant shared his newly published book, No Fair! Mrs. Lathan also held a Bluestem voting party this week. We had so many students read Bluestem books this year. Way to go!
Our fifth graders walked over to Caruso to see the spring musical, Annie Jr. This was a fun trip and gave our students a glimpse into life at Caruso. Today many students and staff went green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. As a special treat, Cubby visited every classroom and shared green paws for students to earn this week by following our PAWS expectations.
The highlight of the week was the West Side Caruso Classic charity volleyball game. Team Give (Wilmot’s philanthropy club) planned this exciting event where teachers from Wilmot, South Park, and Caruso played in a volleyball tournament to crown the winner on the west side. Congratulations to Caruso who came in first place, followed by Wilmot's second-place win. Thank you to the many staff who played or cheered on our team. This event was a great way to bring our community together, have fun and raise money for a great cause. We raised over $2,100 for Paws for Patrick. Way to go!
